About Starlet Vanity

Starlet Vanity is a couture atelier and fashion design portfolio that began as an independent venture to combat the pressing issue of unsustainable fashion, and to show that beautiful, stylish clothes can be made from pre-loved fabrics. The goal behind Starlet Vanity is for the fashion consumer to assume more responsibility and agency in the clothes-making process, creating a more intentional and sustainable shopping experience. 

• To help reduce the tremendous waste and pollution caused by the fashion and textile industries, Starlet Vanity uses secondhand materials for all of our garments, also known as upcycling. Using second hand fabric means it is extremely limited. If the fabric from a sample is no longer available it will be substituted with something similar at your discretion. 
• We believe that if the consumer played a larger role in the creation process of the clothing they wore, it would hold more value. The Custom Design and Tailoring processes ensure that you are involved in the creation of every piece you buy, specifically made to flatter your body. 

Each garment shown in the Shop are Samples. These samples are one of one, and are only available in one size (standard size small). Purchasing directly from the shop listing provides the option of ordering the sample or placing a custom pre-order. 

• Sample Sale: Upon purchasing this option, you will receive the garment as modeled and reflected by the sizing description. 
• Custom Pre-Order:  This option allows the product as modeled to be duplicated in your custom sizing. Upon placing a Pre-order, you will be contacted via email regarding the custom design process. Please note: due to the limited availability of secondhand fabrics, the custom pre-order may need to be fulfilled in a different fabric than the original. If this is the case, you will be able to work with the design team to choose a different fabric free of charge. Depending on the design, please allow 2-4 weeks for the garment to be made. A more accurate timeline will be provided once the order is placed. 

Custom orders can be placed by filling out the Custom Order Form, available on our website homepage. After submitting your form, the process will begin with an initial consultation to decide on the style, fit, and fabric for the design. Orders placed will be accepted in the form of a Pre-Order. Please allow up to 4 weeks to complete following the initial consultation. Please note: the custom order includes two complementary fittings to ensure fit accuracy. Details about the initial consultation and proceeding fittings will be shared via email once the custom order has been placed.
